Job Search Tips

1.  Any Location:  The employer has indicated that any location is fine.  Thus, search results will show jobs where the employer has specifically "Any" location.

2.  All Locations:  This will return jobs in the specified profession/alternative work arrangement for all locations.  So, if you choose Clerical/Administrative~ Full Time ~All Location you will get a list of full time clerical jobs from all locations listed.  This option may take quite a while to run as we have thousands of jobs on the job board.  Your system may even time out.  If you do get a system time out message, please narrow your search to a specific location, use a key word or specify a profession.

3.  View all jobs for one state:  Select the State name with hyphen and no city.  It will return all jobs in the state in city order.

4.  Misspelled Locations and/or similar locations:  Employers who post jobs on the Womans-Work.com job board use a drop down menu to indicate location.  As a result, these jobs will have consistent location titles and should not have misspelled locations.  However, we are now receiving jobs from an organization that does not utilize a drop down menu.  Many recruiters are typing in their own locations.  This results in misspelled words and also similar locations.

We are building our drop down on the job search page from the locations that are submitted by the many recruiters.  As a result, our drop down menu now has errors and duplications.

5.  Alternative Work Arrangement Selections:  If you choose more than one alternative work arrangement, the resulting list of jobs will have any combination of the alternative work arrangements.  For instance, if you select Full Time, Flex Schedule and Part Time, you will receive a list of jobs that have at least one of the arrangements.  This means that some may be strictly full time or strictly part time but NOT flex schedule.  To see which arrangements are being considered for the specific job you must look at the top right hand corner of the detail page for the job.

6.  System Time-Out:  We have thousands of jobs on the database.  As a result, if your search criteria is too large you may experience a system time out.  If this happens, please narrow your search by selecting a specific location, specific profession, use a keyword or look for only one alternative work option at a time.
