Mayo Clinic Hospital is a 178-bed state-of-the-art hospital where patients are cared for by Mayo Clinic physicians, surgeons and allied health professionals. The hospital employs a support staff of 1,100.

Integration allows Mayo Clinic staff to provide a consistent standard of care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The strength of Mayo Clinic is the integrated practice.

At Mayo Clinic Scottsdale, specialists from virtually every major medical field are working with other healthcare professionals as a team, combining their knowledge and skills in an effort to provide the best possible diagnosis and patient care. Because Mayo Clinic Scottsdale offers 66 different medical and surgical specialties and programs, patients can consult with the specialists they need conveniently and efficiently. Clinicians and scientists are jointly engaged in research, continually discovering new procedures, treatments and cures. Medical and allied health professionals are teaching and learning through medical education programs designed to extend current knowledge to patients, thus helping to ensure the highest standard of care.

 A century-old tradition

Over a century ago, the Mayo brothers recognized the value of combining their knowledge and skill in service to humanity. Their unconventional approach evolved into the world’s first private group practice of medicine where teamwork and innovation became the standard.

Mayo Clinic is a not-for-profit organization. Earnings from the practice, beyond those needed to operate and perpetuate the Clinic, are used for medical education and research.

Today, Mayo Clinic includes more than 2,000 physicians in Arizona, Minnesota and Florida. At all locations, Mayo Clinic assumes the missions of its founders – to heal the sick and advance the science – through medical practice, research and education.

Located in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, modern skyscrapers adorn the breathtaking surroundings of mountains, desert, palm trees, and natural architecture. The sunshine inspires a casual lifestyle that is more plentiful than any other part of the country. It’s also the destination of choice for more than 12 million travelers annually.
